Even in an unstable world,
CMI – Martti Ahtisaari Peace Foundation is an independent non-profit Finnish organisation that works to prevent and resolve conflicts through dialogue and mediation. Founded in 2000 by Nobel Peace Laureate and former President of Finland Martti Ahtisaari, we have since grown to be a leader in the field of international peacemaking.
“If we work together, we can find solutions. We should not accept any excuses from those in power. Peace is a question of will.”
– Martti Ahtisaari, Nobel Prize Lecture, 2008
Conflicts consume vast resources.
It’s time to invest in peace.
Your donation gives peace a chance. It helps bring people together across divides, build trust, and create space for dialogue where it is needed most. Your support strengthens those who lead peace efforts, improves mediation tools and methods, and enables the practical steps required to make peace processes work in fragile contexts.
Every year, CMI implements more than twenty dialogue and mediation initiatives across the Middle East and North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, Eurasia and Asia. We create the space for others to lead change.

In a world where conflicts and violence touch every corner, even the bearer of joy and Christmas peace must wear armor. Santa stands as a symbol of hope, reminding us that the need for peace is urgent, while bringing CMI’s vital work into focus for the world to see.
Beside him, Mrs. Claus watches with quiet worry, her concern reflecting the fear and uncertainty that many feel. Even in unsettled times, one thing is certain: the work that brings hope never stops – neither Santa’s, nor CMI’s.
