CMI’s Strategy 2030 defines One Team as a priority area for the organisation. It focuses on strengthening practices of staff wellbeing, decision-making and communication, attracting and retaining expertise, and fostering a culture of learning.
On average, CMI employs around 100 staff members across its offices in Helsinki and Brussels. We also work with around 100 consultants, most of whom are based in the regions in which we operate. The average age of employees in 2025 was 37 years. About 75% of CMI’s employees are female and 25% male. CMI is proud to be a multicultural workplace, with employees representing over 20 different nationalities across our Helsinki and Brussels offices.
Our projects span a wide variety of roles, from Project Assistants and Officers to Project Managers, Advisors, and Senior Advisors. In addition, our support functions, such as Communications, Finance, Human Resources, Administration, and Security, have versatile roles. The majority of those who work for CMI come from fields related to conflict resolution and social sciences, though we also have expertise in areas such as law, languages and business.
