As global military expenditure reaches its highest level since the Cold War, CMI – Martti Ahtisaari Peace Foundation has launched the ‘Help Us Keep The Night Silent’ film to highlight the importance of sustainable and credible peacemaking.
“Even in an unstable world, essential work does not stop – not for Santa, and not for CMI,” said Hanna Klinge, Deputy CEO of CMI. “Peacemaking rarely makes headlines, but its absence defines them. With this campaign, we want to highlight the issues that shape our work every day; work that continues with commitment and determination, even when global conditions are difficult.”
To mark 25 years, CMI hosted a high-level event in Helsinki on the 3rd of December, bringing together leading international guests to discuss advancing peace, dialogue and mediation. The event also premiered the campaign video, which encourages collective action for sustainable peace.
