Published on Friday, 13th of November 2015

On 12 and 13 November 2015, CMI held a series of consultations in Kyiv, with Ukrainian official and civil society representatives, including subgroup negotiators in the Trilateral Contact Group.

Ukrainian interlocutors were briefed regarding the experience of lessons learnt in international peace processes, in particular, the experience of Northern Ireland and the Transdniestrian settlement process.

The briefings were provided by high level international experts who were involved as senior negotiators in those peace processes.

These events were organised as part of an ongoing series of peer exchange opportunities offered by CMI to stakeholders involved in the peace process in Ukraine. In previous instances, experiences and lessons were shared from the peace process in Aceh, Indonesia and by international experts from Canada, Finland, the Republic of Ireland and the United Kingdom, including Scotland and Northern Ireland.

The events on 12–13 November were organised in cooperation with the international peace institute PATRIR with funding support from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland.
